corpseflowers.

Nothing left but bone-chill and damp. Nights of raindrops/dropping degrees.

labyrinthine.

A carpet of dead leaves underfoot, run like mad (equal parts blind abandon and impatience). Search for an alcove to hide away in, to lay amidst the twigs and insects, spent.

witchery.

"Yes, to the darkest place that we know
Outside of the rider's domain
To the heart of the wood
To the hidden places beyond the briar thickets."

Tomorrow marks the start of October, and the annual descent into Halloween-driven madness. The days are shorter, colder and the dark somehow that much more mysterious. Leaves are burning. Ghouls are ghouling. Legends and lore come back to life. Oh, Fall. How you bring me all of the following delights:

+ Breaking out the coats, legwarmers n' boots.
+ Pumpkin spice/apple cinnamon flavors & scents.
+ Kids being BACK IN SCHOOL. And out of my hair.
+ Baked goods, and the process of making them.
+ The return of monster cereals!
+ Tons of metal and neofolk.
+ Lighting up a good clove ciga... wait. Those are illegal now.
+ Haunted houses, hayrides, corn mazes, pumpkin patches.
+ Dark beer and hot soup.
+ Creepy, nostalgic movies re-airing.
+ Blood, guts and non-stop fun.

For now, ride the coattails of Autumn air into the night:
